Milan Highlights

Here are highlights from our first game against the Milan Rhinos, last weekend.  They were a good team and it was a FUN game to play in.  We won 47-40, and if every game is like this, then we are in for a wild ride this season!  Enjoy!

Matt Epperson fights for extra yardage in the 2nd quarter.  Matt finished with 10 catches for 149 yards and 1 TD to lead the league after the first week.

Running Back Enrico Lombardo slashes through the secondary on another long carry.  Enrico carried 25 times for 145 yards and 2 TDs, also tops in the League.

Me throwing on the run... I was wearing #11 (my high school number) in our old white uniforms before we take the field in our bright new red ones next week.

I thought it would be best to just fall on my knees and pray when these two defenders tried to tackle me.  (Actually, this was late in the game and in order to stay in bounds I dove... and successfully added to my turf burn at the same time.)

After watching the film and dissecting the way we played, I can honestly say that I am very proud of the effort we put forth.  It was a hard fought game against a quality opponent, and to come out victorious in our first top division game was no small task.  However - like all first game films - there is much room for improvement, and we will be working hard on those things this week.

Our next opponent, the Bergamo Lions, are a very good football team and the defending champions of the league.  They won their first game against Parma, and won a "EuroBowl" game this past weekend in France.  This will be a great test for our program, and a great opportunity to play against experienced competition.  This will be fun!

Those were some great highlights. #11 looks like Michael Vick's cousin.

Hey JJ - even though you played for the Eskimos in Edm for three years I did not get to see you play more than about 2 mins. Glad you are enjoying the football.
