The Vienna Trip

What is better than being introduced before a game?  Being introduced with FLAME THROWERS!  The Vikings sure know how to put together a show.

The trip to play the Vienna Vikings was a long, long, (how many more will you tolerate?) long day.  We left our house at roughly 5:30am to catch the bus, drove the 6+ hours to the game, played, then drove the 6+ hours back, arriving around 1:30am... or 20 hours after we began.  Although we didn't win, as always there were some memorable (and funny) moments.  Here's a few of my favorites.

When your 17 year old starting left tackle misses his ride to the bus, the bus goes and picks him up!  Be on time next time, Habetin!

Rolling through Vienna, I always think it's cool when there are road signs to Prague and Budapest... let's you know you are a little more East than you realize.

Celebrating Matt's first touchdown of the game.

The Vikings' stadium had all sorts of vendors, including Thai, Kebap, and of course, Coffee to Go! (What an American idea!)

Auditioning for PURPLE MAN GROUP

A little Redneck drum with a sweet "Viking horn holster."

The crowd was on its feet for the final play of the game...

... but unfortunately we couldn't complete our "Hail Mary."

Doing an interview with local media after the game.  First question, "How happy were you with the game?"  Actually... not that happy.

With Christie after the game.

Finally a big thanks to my wife, who gives me amazing support and always makes me feel loved, especially after a tough game.  Thank you for sharing this incredible experience with me!  (And great job on the photos too!)
