Cefalu is a really cool beachside town located on Sicily's North Shore. While the waves aren't quite as epic as its counterpart in Hawaii, there are a number of towns such as this dotting the coastline, and George and I had a fantastic trip there on Sunday afternoon.
The waterfront of Cefalu - a mix of old buildings, white sand, and fishing boats.
The waterfront from the other angle. The beach on the right is packed with people in the summer. February all was quiet.
The ancient city - looking as it did before the 1950s when color was invented.
A stained glass window in the big cathedral from the picture above. Very modern design for such an old building... or is it retro?
Cefalu itself sits at the base of a huge rock (la rocca) and has a long white sand beach that fills with tourists in the summer, and a cathedral in the center of town (see pictures below). When we toured the town, it was very quiet on a Sunday afternoon in February - but there were a plethora of cool cafe's, restaurants, and small shops.
