A Royal Canadian Visit

On Friday we bid farewell to our final Sicilian visitors from North America, Christie's friend Marnie and her mom Judy.  They were officially our 10th and 11th visitors respectively, and early figures from the Sicilian Tourism Office indicate that my presence on the island helped boost the local economy by as much as 6.4%.

During their time here, we enjoyed many a beach day as well as some good sightseeing.  They loved the driving (and quickly learned the word 'PAZZO!' which means CRAZY!), along with the local cuisine and people.  Here's a few pics from our trip to Taormina, Isola Bella, and Castlemola, which sits high above Taormina on a rocky cliff.  Enjoy!

Work it girls!

Christie doing her best "Shooter McGavin" impression.

Another name for Isola Bella is "James Bond Island" - as its cinematic appearance has me convinced that this is where the REAL James Bond lives.  It even has a cave near the water that obviously leads to his secret headquarters.

Looking over the beautiful town of Taormina.

The quiet square in Castlemola is a peaceful retreat from the busy tourist-filled streets of Taormina.
