Irish Spring

On Sunday, we caught a ZERO EURO flight on Europe's favorite budget airlines, Ryan Air, to Ireland for two days of R & R.  The only problem is, those two letters to me do not stand for rest, but rather for RACING around and having RIDICULOUS fun!  We definitely made the most of our 48 hours on the island, and can now truly say that we have a feel for what Ireland is all about.  The first day we headed directly west across the island to the small town of Westport (pop. 4,500) to visit with the family of our good Irish friend Dan Mulloy.  The next day, we explored south of Westport on our way to the spectacular Cliffs of Moher.  At night, we hit up Ireland's  oldest pub, Sean's Bar, for a pint of Guinness - a fitting end to a great couple of days.  The following two blogs will tell our Irish adventures, but in the meantime here is a quick summary:
Wings over Ireland

Sunset over Clew Bay, West Ireland

What will it be: red or blue?

The Mall at Westport

The Spectacular Cliffs of Moher

Is there any better way to close the trip than with a pint of Guinness at Ireland's oldest pub?
