SWARCO Raiders race past Blue Devils, 41-3

The Alpine foothills provided a stunning (and green) backdrop for our game at the Cineplexx Blue Devils in Hohenems, Austria.

GAME REPORT: SWARCO Raiders 41, Cineplexx Blue Devils 3

Jason Johnson threw four touchdown passes and Florian Grein added two TDs on the ground as the SWARCO Raiders overwhelmed the Cineplexx Blue Devils 41-3 for a big Austrian League victory.  The Silver and Black defense was again a major force, creating 5 turnovers and limiting the Blue Devils to just 157 yards total offense and a lone field goal.

Johnson was on target throughout the day, finishing 20-22 passing for 203 yards.  His scoring strikes went to Matt Epperson (9 yards, 3 yards), Andy Pröller (14), and "Touchdown" Steve Michalski (22).  Pröller led the explosive receiver corps with 8 catches for 107 yards.  Grein carried 14 times for 82 yards.

The Mother's Day victory moves the SWARCO Raiders to 4-2 overall.  The club now will switch gears and focus on the defense of their EuroBowl title, facing German power Braunschweig in the EuroBowl quarterfinals next Saturday night at Tivoli Stadium.

Matt Epperson races around the corner on a reverse... going about half speed while he waits for JJ to throw a block!

JJ looking over the middle.

Mario Rinner's emotional pre-game speech put our team in the proper frame of mind.  Now the post-game break focused on our next game:  Eurobowl showdown with German power Braunschweig.
