Elephants Run to Victory 48-28

Today the Catania Elephants used a powerful running attack and swarming defense to beat the Palermo Sharks 48-28.  The win moves us to 5-1 on the year as we head into our midseason break.

Enrico Lombardo was the star of the day, rushing for easily over 100 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground and another in the air as Palermo geared their defense to stop our passing attack.  Hats off to our offensive line who stepped up HUGE to open holes for Enrico.  I threw 4 TDs on the day, 2 to Giuseppe Strano, 1 to Claudio Mangano and the other to Enrico.  Matt Epperson got his lone TD of the day on a spectacular interception return for TD.

Enrico busts loose on another run.

The Sharks moved the ball well behind their accurate quarterback Arturo Sanchez, however our rapidly improving defense came up with a bunch of big plays and 4th down stops.  George will definitely sleep much easier on the flight home to California for his son's graduation!

Look for highlights and more pictures in the upcoming week!  Off to Rome!
