Hurricane Dale & Tropical Storm Wei Roll into Sicily

Dale & Wei loving the view at Taormina.

Late Thursday night, my two great friends Dale MacMillan and Wei Wong - photographers extraordinaire - arrived in Italy for two weeks of fun & photography.

Dale is the official photographer of my former CFL football team, the Edmonton Eskimos, as well as one of Canada's best nature, sports, and entertainment photographers.  Wei owns Edmonton's largest framing business, and has been gaining acclaim for his REFRECTION PHOTOGRAPHY.  (Refrection is an asian-pronunciation of the word reflection that we jokingly tease our good friend, as his artwork centers around reflections of water.  Sicily is an island which means constant refrection for Wei!)

Investigating Aci Trezza's most famous statue.

We spent Friday morning having breakfast at our favorite local spot Mythos (Cornetto, Granita, and Cappuccini) before heading north to Taormina for an afternoon of sun.

Next week the Elephants have a bye, so we will be heading on a tour of Italy that includes Rome, Florence, Tuscany, and the Cinque Terra before hopefully hopping over to Monaco and the South of France.  I know many of you have enjoyed my photography up to this point, however I am very excited to share the 'pro' images of my good friends in the coming days!

Mythos Breakfast.

Dale is required by contract to open his mouth in 75% of all pictures.

Morning sun, crooked camera.

Giddy Up!

Isola Bella in Taormina... did James Bond ever live here?

In the late afternoon we stumbled across my new favorite beach, Giardini-Naxos.  This white sand beach had crystal clear water and is only about a half hour from our house.  I hear the $5 beach massage here is worth it!
