Rome in a Day (Seen not Built!)

First stop: Coliseum!

Rome, the Eternal City, is a MUST SEE for any European traveler.  You can't go around a single corner there without seeing something spectacular or interesting.  We caught an early flight from Catania to Rome and hit the ground running for a single day of sight-seeing... for while "Rome wasn't built in a day," the sights of Rome can all be seen in one crazy afternoon of walking and shooting pics!

The 3 amigos on another boring side street.

We walked probably 15k, as we dissected the city with precision sight-seeing skills.  Our itinerary, and one I recommend to all single-day Roman Visitors:

STOP 1: Coliseum.  (Quick self-guided tour and pics... about 45 min)

STOP 2: Roman Forum (Ancient ruins and arches... adjacent to Coliseum and included with admission price to Coliseum)

STOP 3: Pantheon (Largest 'dome' in world until 1960... only a quick 5 min stop for cool pics)

STOP 4: Trevi Fountain (Very touristy but still cool to see)

STOP 5: Spanish Steps (Completely overrated in my opinion, but still great for people watching and adjacent to...)

STOP 6: Shopping (For legit items in Rome's fashion district... and 'knock-offs' with African salesman next to the river... we hit them for 7 Pradas and a Burberry!)

STOP 7: Siesta (Our feet were DEAD after walking so much... we showered and slept from 8-10pm)

STOP 8: Late Dinner at Campo Di Fiore (Although almost 100% American, this picturesque square is filled with great patios, restaurants, and pubs)

STOP 9: GO TO BED!!!  (And hit the Vatican early the next morning!)

CC and the Colisseum.

Tossing a coin backwards into the Trevi Fountain ensures a return visit.

Modern day Gladiators... only we fight with Canons and Nikons.

This sign caught my eye... maybe because I am now addicted to Italian Coffee?

Last time i was in Rome i went to the Trevi Fountain with my sister and we trhew coins in the there the same way you did, without watching it:my guess is that we didn't throw the coins with enough energy or intensity cuz we suddenly heard a loud OUCH right after the throw..
We hit somebody in the head...
Do u think that means we'll be back in Rome soon?

Sheriff... I think you are a much better receiver than a quarterback... especially the way you hold the ball like it is a cornetto!

We must all go back to rome soon!!!

Reminds me of the day Billy, Tammy and I did a RUN thru of Paris in a day. Not recommended but it can be done - we even managed to include the Louvre.

Hi to Dale and Wei - looks like everyone is having a great time.
