An Arizona sunset
For those of you who haven't seen a sunset over the desert hills, take a gander:
And if you haven't seen an 11-armed mangled cactus... Well, I hadn't either! Give me a scientific name for that, Claud!

J,
it should be a Cereus giganteus aka Carnegiea gigantea.
In both names you can see the "gigant-" adjective which means giant.
As a matter of fact, the Saguare(common name) is a columnar cactus that grows spontaneously in Arizona that can reach 15-20mt high,65cm diameter and can live up to 200 years. Until 2mt it grows up in a single column...then it starts to ramificate. Because of these features it is now a protected specie. The Saguaro produces beautiful white flowers which are the symbol of Arizona...kinda weird you didn't know that.
