** 1 Day to Christie! Today my wife is 'leaving on a jetplane' -- headed for Europe! I am so excited to have her join me here! While everything up to this point has far surpassed my expectations, I am so excited to share the rest of my time here with Christie. I will be flying to Paris in the morning to meet her, where we will spend 4 days, and then head to Catania late on Friday night. (There is no ETA on her first Cavallo panino.)

** To Catch a Predator: As some of you know, George and his wife were mugged on Sunday afternoon in our car! (Go to George's blog to hear the story, or just watch CNN for the latest). While we are happy that Laurie, George's wife, was not hurt when her purse was ripped from her shoulder (also let me give a shout-out to White Wine for helping ease some nerves), we all still feel violated and are doing everything we can to bring these thieves to justice.
In fact, local authorities have released the following sketch of the thief:
If any of you see this man - who looks basically like any other guy you would ever see -- especially if he is still wearing a complete mask over his face, then please ask him if we can have her money back. Again, only approach him if he still has the mask on.
** Vatican City Travel Tips: Our trip to Rome a few weeks ago was an amazing time, and I haven't had time to share all the great information and 'insider tips' that I learned while I was there. Two are pictured below:
If you are coming to the Vatican, please be sure to bring your scissors, knives, tweezers, and nail files SEPERATELY! The Swiss Army has no jurisdiction here!
This sign also does a good job at getting across its point: The Vatican is all about the ONE PIECE -- head to toe -- both in men's and women's fashion. Don't even try to get in wearing your 1920's swimsuit, or you'll be denied!
** Training Camp Notes: We just completed our first month of practice with our whole team together. We have grown a lot as a team, and it has been exciting to see a number of our players making improvements. Certain players -- such as our safety Christian and our right guard Guilio -- are only in their second year of football and are becoming very solid players, especially with great Defensive coaching from George and Brandon/Davide working with the offensive line. This past Saturday was the best performance to date by our defense, and it was great to see how aggressive and fast they played. I look forward to start preparing for actual games in the near future -- but this past month has been great building a solid base of fundamentals and in learning our offensive and defensive systems.
