A Fun Canadian Visit!

After renting a car and driving 2,000 km on a whirlwind trip from Nice through Italy, the long-distance travelers finally reached Aci Trezza!

In all the craziness of the past two weeks - racing from Germany to Prague to Malta - I have unfortunately not posted a blog about the great visit we had from a group of our good Canadian friends: Terry Ainsworth, her sister Lynda, and son Billy!

Terry was the girlfriend of Christie's dad Doug, who passed away this last December.  We shared many emotional times together, and so it was great for them to pay us a visit here in Italy.  In order to see the country, they actually flew into Nice, France, rented a car (to Mario Andretti-clone Billy), and drove the boot of Italy all the way down to Sicily.  What a road trip!
The lunch-time view of the water in Cefalu...

During their week in Sicily, we got to show them many fun parts of the island - as well as well as some good R&R on the beach after their long sightseeing tour.  They caught the Elephants final home game against Bolzano, then toured to Cefalu on the island's north coast and to Taormina - the most picturesque resort town in Sicily.

The two sisters at Isola Bella...

... and the whole crew above Taormina for the best view in Sicily.

However, as we've discovered during our time here, some of the best Italian memories are just relaxing on a patio and sharing good conversation.  It was awesome to show our friends (and avid blog readers!) what our life is like here in Italy and to let them see first hand the Dolce Vita.

THANKS FOR VISITING!!!

Nights on the Patio are perhaps the best memories at Malibu.

With Mt. Etna spewing lava, we got as close as possible for some unbelievable views!

Of all the things we saw and places we visited and crazy things that happened on our trip to Italy, what I miss most are the people of Italy and of course my American-Canadian family Christie and Jason. The people of Italy are warm and friendly and will help you in anyway they can even if you don't speak Italian and they don't speak English. I will visit Italy again just so I can meet more of the wonderful Italian people. Grazie to Italy and Christie and Jason.
